The Eco Marine Village exhibitions will cover coastal habitats of the SA Whale Coast and will aim to involve local people (citizen scientists) and future conservationists (young people). The interactive exhibitions will be in a marquee tent on the Waterfront Piazza in front of Village Square. It will include Shark, Whale, Penguin, Dolphin and Educational Kiddie areas and award-winning botanical garden and biosphere displays.  Educational Kiddie area, as well as the popular Pirates and Mermaids,  Treasure Hunt on Saturday and Sunday from 12hr-2hr.

Kids collect a map & list with clues , follow the route inside the Eco Marine Tent and collect all the clues. When all the clues are collected kids will return to collect their prize! Every kid that complete the treasure hunt gets a prize.

Venue: Eco Marine Tent ( inside only)

Time : 12 pm - 2pm

 Every child gets a prize on completion.

Age Groups:

Kids up to 12 years old (Pre- & Primary School)

DICT has been doing beach clean-ups for 20 years. 80% of the litter is plastic.

In collaboration with Overstrand Municipality, they have installed trash traps in Gansbaai -

the success is already making a difference.
