SANBI - Harold Porter Botanical Garden
Harold Porter Botanical Garden had won South Africa’s 35th gold medal in 41 years at exhibiting at the prestigious Chelsea Flower Show. They will re-created this display in the centre of the marine tent, dividing ABOVE & BELOW. The plants from the garden, located as it is within the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve, are unique. This is a place of such natural beauty and complex floral diversity to be recognised as perhaps the world’s greatest biodiversity hot-spot. Set between mountain and sea, The Harold Porter National Botanical Garden is a little piece of paradise within the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve. Steep mountain slopes covered in fynbos, forested gorges, wetlands, as well as dunes adjacent to the beach, each ecosystem with its own specially adapted plants including Ericas, Proteas and Restios
